Sleep

Sleep forms an integral part of a man's life. This is a natural phenomenon gifted to mankind to help himself relax. Sleep turns out to be one of the best ways to recoup and rejuvenate oneself. It helps keep you refreshed, focused and energetic for the rest of the day. An ideal sleep timer could clock around 5-7 hours of undisturbed sleep. Many tend to distribute their sleep during the day. Some crave to catch an afternoon's nap while others prefer going to bed early in the night. We have often come across the proverb that goes "Early to bed and Early to rise makes a man healthy, wealthy and wise". Man's life style has changed rapidly over the years. An undisturbed sleep is what many crave for in today's life filled with stress. Let for instance consider a baby, what a pleasure it is to watch it sleep -Undisturbed and relaxed. This boils down to the fact that one must always take some time out from his daily schedule to relax, de-stress, exercise and keep fit. This will help in maintaining a healthy body and mind.

Solar Lights

With the whole world looking to cut emissions, electricity bills and go green, focus towards renewable energy sources like solar, wind etc have increased manifold. Solar power in particular is fast becoming the most spoken about alternative source to power lighting systems for both commercial and residential purposes. The use of solar power to light streets and homes has come around as a break through in the power sector. These not only make use of the solar power that is available free of cost but are also zero maintenance and weather proof. They are used to light up cities, towns, main roads, townships, some times even small streets. These lights are available in various designs, shapes and are sometimes custom made to suit customer requirements. Solar lighting today is one of the most elegant ways of adding beauty to your place and be a part of global cause.
The payback periods, government subsidy and attractive offers by manufacturers are making this a very attractive and a viable option for both industrial use and the real estate business. Solar is very quickly becoming one of the most widely used alternative source of energy. Call your nearest dealer to find out how you could be part of this solar revolution.

Vedic Mathematics - A key to Modern Math

Probing into the essence of the ancient systems of Indian Mathematics we arrive at potential solutions towards solving modern math. This solution dates back to the ages of the Vedas and the Sutras, and is referred to as Vedic Mathematics.

This method makes math so simple that calculation involving huge numbers could solved mentally within seconds. Multiplication, square roots etc become a matter of seconds. The system is so flexible that the learner once familiar is free to invent his own methods. According to this system, the whole of the mathematics is based on 16 Sutras or word formulae. These formulae are in accordance with the natural way the mind works and are very easy to grasp mentally. The spot light of this system is the unified approach throughout the series of Sutras. The coherence is unimaginable and all the Sutras are interlinked in a way that makes it very easy for people to understand. Applications of vedic mathematics could be found in topics such as calculus, geomentry too. As mathematicians always claim practice as the best weapon. On continuous practice and familiarity with this system one will be able to appreciate the effectiveness and value it delivers.

Migrane

Migrane, Well we are not new to this condition. Its a must to understand this well in order to counter symptoms and pain. This condition is characterized by typical head aches ( some times one sided ) and nausea. A condition found more often in women than men. People suffering from this condition often complain about pulsating headaches. Migrane is also known to carry with it symptoms such as nausea, vomiting and increased sensitivity to light. More than 30 million Americans are known to suffer from this condition. Majority of the population experience who experience this head ache are between the ages of 15- 50. Some distinctive characteristics of Migraine include:

  • Throbbing or pulsating head aches typically on one side of the head.
  • Vomiting or Nausea
  • Increase in pain when exposed to light.
  • Head aches turn worse on exertions such as climbing the stairs.
There are many factors that are responsible for triggering this condition.
  • Many do attribute their headaches to their family history of migrane.
  • A change in the sleep - wake habits (time).
  • Skipping of breakfast or meals.
  • Extensive TV viewing.
  • Bright Lights
  • Exposure to Blaring loud speakers or noises.

TRAI - Telecom Industry - India - Carbon Footprint

India's telecom revolution is said to be on the onset. The Telecom regulatory Authority of India(TRAI) have recommended progressive targets regarding reduction in emissions in the telecom industry. With over 600 million subscribers this sector has rather passively been a cause of environmental pollution. The telecom towers and networks consume around 2 billion litres of diesel a year, release an estimated 5,500,000,000 kg's of Carbon Dioxide gas per year.
Presently the telecom sector accounts to about one per cent of the total GHG emissions in India. Ideas and strategies to implement green norms are beginning to surface levels of priority in the Indian telecom market. According to TRAI, the service providers must declare their carbon footprint every six months, and a cap must be placed on power consumption of mobile towers.

The TRAI have recommended the following targets with the aim of reducing the emissions of the telecom industry

8% by 2012-2013 - 12% by 2014-2015- 25% by 2018-2019.

Presently the towers are been predominantly powered by diesel causing concerns. Some possible options arising are hybrid power solutions like solar, geo thermal or wind.

Electric Cars Really Eco Friendly?

Electric Cars !! Wow...once a dream now made possible. But are they everything that they claim to be? Green, non polluting, efficient ? The power derived to run these cars are often derived from carbon intensive sources such as Thermal power stations that use non renewable sources of energy as a source of fuel. Now, this is nothing but indirect means of pollution. This goes on to show that the source of power offered to the electric car plays a pivotal role in deciding whether the car is eco friendly or not. Power derived from natural biomass, wind, geothermal can be clearly classified as sources of green energy available. This power is to be made available to power cars that claim to be green.

Carbon Footprint

Carbon, today is one of the most challenging and promising businesses interesting investors and global stake holders. Those adoring a pro active approach are said to be innovators and are duly awarded. One such field is the very same domain is Carbon Footprint. The measure of the impact made of Green house gas (GHG) emissions belonging organization or a product on the environment is called Carbon Footprint(CF). GHG primarily includes CO2 (carbon-di-oxide), but also includes Methane (CH4), Nitrous Oxide (N2O), Hydro fluorocarbons (HFCs), Perfluocarbons (PFCs) etc. For simplicity of calculations all these gases are accounted as CO2 equivalent "Co2e". An organization's or product's carbon footprint can be measured by taking the GHG assessment. Predominantly two standards are used to measure carbon footprint.
1. GHG protocol
2. PAS 2050
Some hot spots to identify CF are transport, DG sets, electricity consumption values. It becomes a dire necessity for organizations around the world to reduce and maintain a low carbon footprint so as to reduce expenditure in the form of electric bills, fuel and transport costs. Though the know how is presently feeble, awareness is spreading thick and fast. A simple concept it is, when understood reaps huge benefits.
